20 Years of Hertie School: Looking back to move forward
The Hertie School began in 2004 as an ambitious experiment bridging academia, politics and practice. Twenty years later, we have grown into a thriving institution with over 800 students from 70+ countries, 35 faculty members, and 2,700 alumni shaping policy worldwide.
To mark our 20th anniversary, in the 2024-2025 Academic Year we hosted events on critical global issues like climate action, democracy, security and AI regulation, while also celebrating our community through an International Alumni Month, a student essay competition, and the "20 Years, 20 Women" campaign.
Looking ahead, we are preparing to move to our new campus, a historic building on Dorotheenstraße in 2026, which will provide us with modern facilities to support our mission to ‘Understand today. Shape tomorrow”. We invite you to explore the events, publications and other highlights from a year of celebrating our 20th anniversary. Join us as we look ahead and collaborate to shape the next chapters of our journey together.
