myGovernment 2025: Empowering public administration with innovation

The 10th edition of the myGovernment event brought together groundbreaking startups that are reshaping public administration with innovative digital solutions, promising more efficient and citizen-focused services.

We proudly co-hosted the 10th edition of the myGovernment event at the Hertie School, in partnership with the Institut für den öffentlichen Sektor e.V. and Legal Tech Colab. This dynamic gathering focused on integrating innovation and technology within public administration.

The event opened with stimulating insights from Thomas Heilmann, former Bundestag member, who highlighted the challenges posed by fragmented responsibilities across federal levels and agencies in state modernisation. Following him, Dr. Annika Busse, Hamburg's Deputy CIO, stressed the importance of collaboration between startups and public administrations, emphasising the need for cultural transformation to embrace change and learn from mistakes, beyond just technological advancements.

A highlight of the day was the presentation by an impressive array of startups, each offering digital solutions to tackle pressing public administration challenges. These solutions addressed a variety of needs, from streamlining immigration processes to enabling citizens to discover and apply for social benefits such as BAföG, Wohngeld, and Bürgergeld. Additionally, a digital platform was showcased to enhance collaboration between youth service providers and youth welfare offices in residential youth care settings.
