Vermon Washington is a second-year MPP student from Liberia. His focus is on policy analysis, with a particular interest in climate policy. Driven by his passion for climate action, he researches mitigation policies and has presented his findings at the Knowledge Beyond Boundaries Conference at the London School of Economics, the European Public Policy Conference, and the Methods Fair at the University of Manchester. Before joining the Hertie School, he earned a master's degree in international development from IE University in Madrid, Spain. He worked as a Policy Analyst intern at the United Nations Development Coordination Office in New York, as well as Communications and Alumni Relations Associate at the President’s Young Professionals Program in Liberia. Vermon is interested in using empirical findings to help stakeholders make informed policy decisions to combat the climate crisis. He also has a growing interest in the economics of energy policies and the political economy of development.
