Women in Entrepreneurship Breakfast gathers founders, investors and policymakers in Berlin

Women in Entrepreneurship Breakfast event at the Hertie School

The event, hosted at the Hertie School, was organised by the Hertie School Alumni Affairs Office, LSE Generate and Alma Angels.

On 30 October at the Hertie School, the Alumni Affairs Office, LSE Generate and Alma Angels co-hosted the Women in Entrepreneurship Breakfast in Berlin under the umbrella of the CIVICA network. The event brought together alumnae from the Hertie School and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, startup operators, investors, and policymakers for a morning of exchanging ideas, inspiration and community-building.

The breakfast was designed as an intimate and interactive session to showcase women’s entrepreneurial talent and explore future directions for inclusive innovation. Gathering around 20 participants, the event created a space for cross-sector dialogue and insightful collaboration.

The morning began with informal networking over coffee and snacks, followed by welcome remarks from representatives of the Hertie School, LSE Generate and Alma Angels. Participants were introduced to the activities of each institution and learned how to engage with their respective networks.

The programme featured small-group discussions and collaborative reflections on opportunities and needs within Berlin’s women-led entrepreneurial ecosystem. Discussions centred on the challenges of funding and scaling ventures, the role of policy in shaping inclusive innovation, and the importance of academic and investment networks in enabling more equitable entrepreneurial pathways for women.

The event concluded with a call to action for continued engagement across the three hosting institutions and their wider networks. Further joint initiatives are being explored to strengthen support for women in entrepreneurship across CIVICA and beyond.
