This course explores the challenges of a shifting world order and the transition toward a multi-order world, where non-Western countries and regions play an increasingly significant role. We will examine the impact of rising armed conflicts, the resurgence of arms races (including nuclear proliferation), and the growing influence of non-state actors. Additionally, we will address cybersecurity threats, as well as the rise of right- and left-wing populism and its effects on international cooperation.
Beyond lectures and discussions with invited practitioners, the course includes a strategic foresight workshop, where students will learn the scenario generation method and develop future scenarios for the evolving global order over the next decade.
